Description

Start the Christmas Season by spending three days in Arizona's Christmas Cit, Prescott, AZ and enjoy a watercolor workshop with internationally known painter and teacher Betty Carr.  A great opportunity to create one-of-a-kind gifts for your Christmas gift list and enjoy the festive atmosphere.  Betty is an inspiring teach who makes workshops fun to take.  See you there!

This workshop will cover linear as well as atmospheric perspective, drawing basics and aspects of painting light.  How to examine colors, values and temperatures of light and shadow, its luminosity, will be demonstrated.  Regardless of style, sound design and compositional aspects in using light will be discovered. in order to direct the eye.  Carr's demonstrations will be spontaneous and painterly with lecture designed to cover essential techniques and tricks of the trade.

Students will examine the "how to's" of massing and organizing darks and lights, value and color relationships, edges, direction and other important design application in creating dynamic painting.  Carr will also demonstrate how to work from field sketches, value studies and a combination of photos.  Students are encouraged to bring in painting as and drawings for critique for open discussion and their favorite photos, especially ones saved for that " challenging" Panting,  Together with Carr, explore the world in seeing and interpreting light with paint while having a fantastic time.
